Old cassette tapes, over time, undergo changes in the sound of the recorded music, creating a slowed reverb effect.
With the passing of Andy Fletcher, keyboardist of Depeche Mode, in 2022, I felt inspired to create a conceptual album as a tribute to his legacy. The concept of the album "Rest" emerged from the materiality of old cassette tapes. The title refers both to the pauses in sheet music and to the slowing effect caused by time on the tapes.
In this way, the album offers a contemplative experience, where the passage of time becomes audible and is integrated into the materiality of cassette tapes.

For the creation of the icon, I used the letter 'S' from the chosen typeface for the project as a base. From it, inspired by musical scores, I recreated a unique 'pause' icon for the album's visual identity.
